Longarone, 8 March
For the Fondazione De Rigo H.E.ART Onlus - the embodiment of a family and an industrial Group that has always valued the role and work of women both at the company and throughout society - supporting projects of such great value is a moral duty and a concrete commitment to the local area and beyond.
In the Belluno area, the Fondazione has supported the ‘PerCorso di Empowerment’ (Empowerment Course) for girls aged between 16 and 19 living in the Cadore region, aimed at increasing awareness of their rights and their human and professional potential. An educational experience to stimulate the imagination and desire of young women to want to make their own contribution to the political, economic and social progress of the country. Not just courses, but a complete human and experiential journey to all intents and purposes that began in December and has developed substantially over the first few months of the year.
Around ten events are scheduled, with weekly/bi-weekly workshops and meetings with prestigious speakers, including professional trainers on gender equality, academics and local professionals.
The section dedicated to the testimonials of women who have reached top positions in associations, professions/businesses and public administrations will represent a central element of the course:
• Lorraine Berton - President of Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti
• Adriana Cogode - Mayoress of Belluno
• Hon. Giustina Destro - Delegate of the Fondazione Marisa Bellisario for the Veneto region
• Dr. Eleonora Pinzuti - Lecturer of the University of Florence Masters Course
• Prof. Paola Degani - Professor of the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Padua
• Dr. Elena Appiani - Candidate for Lions International Director - as well as Lions members
• Public administrators and businesswomen from Cadore will lead the discussion at a public round table event.
An ambitious and far-reaching project sponsored by the Municipality of Pieve di Cadore and the Municipality of Auronzo, and realised thanks to the support of Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti and the Fondazione Marisa Bellisario - Veneto delegation.
Lions Club Cadore Dolomites
The Lions Club Cadore Dolomites, established in 1969, now has more than 30 members and is one of 1,400 clubs in Italy. It is part of the Lions Club International family - the world's largest volunteering association with 1,400,000 volunteers worldwide. The Club has been operating in Cadore for a number of years, coordinating projects in the cultural and social sectors (such as the ‘PerCorso di Empowerment Femminile’), as well as in the health field (with the defibrillator project and major purchases of materials and health equipment for the hospital in Cadore), and even beyond national borders with projects in developing countries (donating corrective glasses or helping local populations in the likes of Ecuador and Africa).
